Trading Overnight and on Weekends

Rules for trading at night and on weekends at FXRK

Updated over a month ago

Challenge

During the evaluation phase (Challenge), you can keep trades open even if the market of the instrument is closed for certain hours, such as weekends or in assets that pause their pricing daily, like gold or some indices.

Funded Account

Once you access a funded account, it is prohibited to keep positions open outside the trading hours of each instrument.

All trades must be closed before the corresponding market close, even if the closure is brief.

Checking the schedule in MetaTrader

You can check the trading hours of each instrument directly in MetaTrader.

To do so, right-click on the symbol in the “Market Watch” window and select “Specification”.

You will see two schedules:

  • Quotes: shows when prices are being transmitted.

  • Trades: shows the interval during which you can open or close positions.

You must ensure that all your positions are closed within the “Trades” schedule, since outside this period, positions cannot be managed or closed at all.

Practical example:

If you are trading XAU/USD and in the symbol specifications you see that the trading hours are from 01:05 to 23:55 (server time), you must close your positions before 23:55 and you can only open new ones from 01:05 the next day.

Final recommendation

Keeping trades open when the market is closed involves significant risks.

During these periods, the opening price can differ substantially from the previous closing price, without the possibility of real-time management. This may cause unexpected losses or surpass loss limits without time to react.

Although during the Challenge it is allowed to keep trades open outside market hours, even at this stage we recommend avoiding it whenever possible.

This helps you protect your account and practice professional risk management with your future funded account in mind.

It is the trader’s responsibility to know the trading hours of each instrument before trading.
