Challenge Suspension with Open Trades

What happens if an account is suspended with open trades

Updated over 2 weeks ago

At FXRK, your Challenge account can be suspended even if you have open trades, if those positions cause you to breach the Maximum Daily Loss or Maximum Total Loss limits.

Important Clarification

  • The platform evaluates both closed losses and floating (unrealized) losses in real time.

  • If your equity (balance + open trades) falls below the allowed threshold at any moment, your account will be disqualified immediately, even if trades are still open and later recover.

Example Scenario

  • You start the day with a $100,000 balance.

  • Your Maximum Daily Loss is $5,000.

  • You open a trade that results in a floating loss of $5,300, even if you haven't closed it yet.

  • The system detects that your equity dropped below $95,000, and your account is disqualified automatically, regardless of any future recovery.

How to Prevent This

  • Track your floating losses carefully throughout the trading day.

  • Use stop-loss orders and proper risk management to protect your account from large intraday drawdowns.

  • Remember: violations are triggered in real time and are not reversed, even if the trade later turns profitable.
